Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the BetterRewards mobile application (the “App”) and the website at betterrewards.co (the “Site”), collectively referred to as the “Service.” The Service is operated by BetterRewards (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use BetterRewards. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
2. What BetterRewards Does (and Does Not Do)
BetterRewards is a credit card rewards optimization tool. It helps you identify which card to use for each purchase, track issuer offers, monitor reward balances, and evaluate whether your annual fees are worthwhile.
BetterRewards is not:
- A financial advisor, investment advisor, or credit counselor
- A lender, credit issuer, or payment processor
- A bank or financial institution
The recommendations provided by BetterRewards are informational only and based on your spending data, card reward rates, and stated preferences. They do not constitute financial advice. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions, including which credit card to use and whether to apply for a new card.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@betterrewards.co if you believe your account has been compromised.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.
4. Subscription and Billing
4.1 Pricing
BetterRewards is a paid subscription service. Current pricing is:
- Monthly: $7.99 per month
- Annual: $59.99 per year
Prices may change. We will notify you of any price changes before your next billing cycle.
4.2 Free Trial
New subscribers receive a 30-day free trial. A valid payment method is required to start the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the plan you selected (monthly by default).
4.3 Billing and Renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) unless cancelled. Payment is charged through your platform:
- iOS: Billed through the Apple App Store via your Apple ID
- Web: Billed through Stripe
4.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time:
- iOS subscribers: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → BetterRewards → Cancel
- Web subscribers: Through the subscription management page in your account settings
After cancellation, you retain full access to premium features until the end of your billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.
4.5 Refunds
- iOS subscribers: Refund requests are handled by Apple through their standard refund process.
- Web subscribers: Contact us at support@betterrewards.co within 14 days of a charge to request a refund. Refunds are issued at our discretion.
If a refund is processed (by Apple or us), your premium access ends immediately.
5. Financial Account Linking (Plaid)
If you choose to link a financial account, you do so through Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”), a third-party financial data provider.
By linking an account through Plaid, you:
- Authorize Plaid to access your financial account information on your behalf
- Acknowledge that Plaid’s services are governed by the Plaid End User Privacy Policy
- Understand that BetterRewards receives read-only access to your account data — we cannot initiate transactions, transfers, or any changes to your accounts
You may disconnect any linked account at any time through the App. Disconnecting revokes the Plaid access token and stops all data syncing for that account.
BetterRewards is not responsible for any errors, outages, or data inaccuracies originating from Plaid or your financial institution.
6. Card Recommendations and Affiliate Links
BetterRewards may include links to credit card issuer websites. Some of these links may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you apply for a card through our link.
Our recommendations are generated by an algorithm based on your spending data and card reward rates. Affiliate relationships do not influence which cards are recommended to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
Applying for a credit card is a decision between you and the card issuer. BetterRewards does not guarantee approval, specific terms, or any particular outcome from a card application. Credit card terms, reward rates, and offers are set by the issuing bank and may change without notice.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users’ accounts
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service without our written permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service’s infrastructure
- Share your account with others or create multiple accounts
- Use the Service to mislead financial institutions or misrepresent your identity
- Reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any content from the Service without our permission
8. Intellectual Property
The BetterRewards name, logo, design, and all content produced by the Service (including reward rate data, recommendation algorithms, and interface design) are the property of BetterRewards and are protected by intellectual property laws.
Your use of the Service does not grant you any ownership rights to our intellectual property. You may not use our name, logo, or branding without written permission.
9. Data and Privacy
Our collection, use, and sharing of your information is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.
10. Third-Party Services
BetterRewards integrates with third-party services including Plaid, Apple, Stripe, PostHog, and Sentry. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.
The Service may also contain links to third-party websites, including credit card issuer sites. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Reward rate data, offer information, or points balances will be accurate or current at all times
- Card recommendations will result in optimal outcomes for your specific financial situation
- The Service will be compatible with all devices or operating systems
Reward rates, issuer offers, and card terms are sourced from third parties and may contain errors or become outdated. BetterRewards makes reasonable efforts to maintain accurate data but cannot guarantee completeness or timeliness.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BETTERREWARDS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM:
- Your use of or inability to use the Service
- Any financial decisions you make based on information provided by the Service
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
- Errors or inaccuracies in reward rate data, offer information, or recommendations
- Any third-party conduct or content
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BetterRewards, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party’s rights.
14. Dispute Resolution
14.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
14.2 Informal Resolution
Before filing any formal legal action, you agree to contact us at support@betterrewards.co and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
14.3 Jurisdiction
If informal resolution fails, any legal action shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last Updated” date and, where appropriate, providing notice within the App or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 8, 11, 12, 13, and 14 survive termination.
You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the App (Settings → Delete Account).
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Affiliate Disclosure, constitute the entire agreement between you and BetterRewards regarding your use of the Service.
