How We Make Money
BetterRewards is a subscription-based service. Our primary revenue comes from your subscription fee. We believe this aligns our incentives with yours — we succeed when we help you maximize your rewards, not when we push a particular card.
Affiliate Relationships
BetterRewards may earn a commission if you apply for a credit card through a link in our App or on our website. These are called affiliate or referral commissions, and they are a standard practice in the credit card industry.
Here’s what matters to you:
- Our recommendations are never influenced by affiliate commissions. The BetterRewards recommendation engine evaluates cards based solely on your spending data, your card’s reward rates, and your stated optimization preferences (cashback, travel points, dining, etc.). Whether or not we earn a commission from a particular card issuer plays no role in which card we recommend.
- You will always know. Whenever a recommendation includes an affiliate link, it is clearly labeled within the App. If a card recommendation does not involve an affiliate relationship, we tell you that too.
- You pay the same price. Affiliate commissions are paid to us by the card issuer, not by you. Applying for a card through our link does not change the card’s terms, annual fee, rewards rate, or your approval odds compared to applying directly with the issuer.
- You are never required to use our links. You can always apply for any recommended card directly through the issuer’s website. Our recommendations are designed to be useful regardless of how you choose to apply.
Current Status
As of the effective date of this disclosure, BetterRewards may or may not have active affiliate agreements with specific card issuers. Affiliate relationships may be added or removed over time. This disclosure applies to any and all affiliate links that may appear in the App or on the Site, now or in the future.
